Eating is an Agricultural Act? The Ethics of Food and Eating
In this project my peers and I studied the ethics that come from eating or even simply buying food. This project also tied in with our Chemistry project in some ways because we studied what chemically makes up food. To study the ethic of food we started with reading short articles and a novel titled, "The Omnivore's Delima" . In these articles and novel, the authors discussed how we as consumers of food, don't always pay attention to where our food is coming from and how that is impactful to our agriculture and our food cultures.
Studying both sides of the project was interesting and it made it easy to make some connections, though I don't know how much it helped me learn. It did make it easier to focus because you had this mindset throughout most the day, which was "food".
From this project my ideology of food has definitely made me more conscious of what is in my highly processed food items, and I enjoy trying to make a mind map in my head of figuring out where this could have come from of where it's been.

"Your Life on Earth" Personal Philosophy Project Reflection
Paragraph 1: Project Description
In my visual aid you can see a girl, with rainbow hair, facing a forest, and on her back and shoulders you can see thousands of tattoos. The tattoos represent experiences in her life, while the rainbow hair is supposed to represent her curious and child like side. In this project I really wanted to emphasize my philosophy, I believe trying to find the meaning of life is not worth chasing, whats more important is having breath taking experiences. My meaning of life comes in moments, laughing, jumping, running, taking a special breath.
I know that my philosophy was impacted the most from the film "Harold and Maude", the character Maude was by far my favorite, she was a free flower blowing in the wind, never worrying herself with what the meaning could be. I always loved being able to experience and feel things but when I saw how she was living the life I had been desiring it gave me that extra kick of "Yes, that is perfection"
Questions I still have:
1. Why do humans have a need to find the meaning of life?
2. Does everyone have different incites to their meaning?
3. Why does it almost always correlate with happiness?

Rhetoric and Ideology
Project Reflection
My project topic was about Abortion, and what both sides have to say about it. To get the statements and opinions of Pro-life sides I went to Life Guard an anti-abortion clinic and interviewed two workers there. I conducted a 25 minute interview to gather information and statements and brochures that I could write back to in my project as an open letter. My final project ended up being an open letter to pro lifers from the perspective of a young pregnant woman. For my Visual aid I created a collage using cut out from the collage I was given at Life Guard
Before I went into this project I really wasn’t very sure on which side I agreed with, I knew that women's rights were essential and important but I also had a feeling that an abortion was wrong. Throughout this project I did definitely learn that religious reasoning does not appeal to me, but morality and values involving scientific backgrounds do. After being able to interview the people who worked at Life Guard I have a better understanding of what they actually want, they very obviously want women to have rights but they also want to be able to give a positive solution to mothers and her child, they believe there should never be a reason for an abortion, which I agree with in some citation, abortions may not be our best option but we need more options than just birth. I have a better understanding of how pro lifers want to be helpful to the woman and their child and that they just have strong beliefs about not having abortions.
From this project I have most definitely learned that being informed and taking time to look at both sides of the argument is the most important thing you can do before you choose to vote. I would say my political views haven’t really changed much throughout this project but I know that when I am talking about politics I am more willing to listen to an opposing side ad I want to be more informed about what I am talking about because having inaccurate information does not help you it only hurts you. Willingness to be disturbed would be very very helpful in a democratic society because it would allow people to be more open to more things and not be so attached to their opinions. Rogerian rhetoric could be helpful but also harmful in this society, in a way it could be used for good and bad. Effective rhetoric could be used to convince people of climate change but also be used for anti vaccine, which no one is to determine which is the proper use and what is not, but it could be used in all citations.
